My Epic Story + Game

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 15, 2009, 8:33 AM
So if you were wondering where I have been, I have been working on my video game. It's in pre-production at the moment. It takes place over a 10,000 or so span. You wont be playing half of it, but I am developing a world with a lot of lore around it. I have been sick and tired of game after game that promotes its graphics over it story. Furthermore, I am sick to death of games are merely rehashes.

The game is going to start out as a group of books; 9 books or so. It will be epic in scope with a more of a Low Fantasy approach. Much less emphasis on magic and odd races. In fact, there are not going to be mystical races. When you see a dwarf, it won't be a race. He's in fact short. There is only one guy in particular that has this "problem" and it is more of a tongue and cheek moment in the story. This dwarf/short person is an engineer that creates small mechanical oddities.

I will be posting different sections of the story on here for some feedback. I hope to get some otherwise I won't bother posting things on here. This isn't going to be an JRPG or any fan service to one. This is a completely new Western story with slight tinges of European mythology/folklore that will eventually be turned into a game. Nothing is kawaii in it. It will be dark, brooding and grimy.

I am, although, looking for other writers or gamers to help me develop the lore and story. This way, I can get my developers to start working on the engine. So if you are interested let me know. It's all volunteer keep in mind. You will be credited for your work though.
